In-Spec Spectrophotometer Standards
The UV and/or
visible spectrophotometer is a widely used analytical tool based on a
solution’s ability to absorb light. This classic instrument is used for both
qualitative and quantitative determinations from molecular identification and
assays to colorimetric determination of specific ions. Procedures for using
spectrophotometers have been developed in response to inspections by both
quality assurance departments and by regulatory bodies. Proof of instrument validation
must be available to regulatory bodies upon request; therefore laboratories
need to make sure that the instrument is within specification.
| The In-specŪ photometric standards were developed by Advanced Polymer Systems (APS), a division of AP Pharma, as a spin-off of their already popular AMCO Clear line of turbidity standards. In 2003, GFS Chemicals, Incpurchased APS and moved production to Columbus, OH. Due to customer requests, the In-specŪ line was soon expanded to include a full range of calibration and verification standards for spectrophotometers. The product line continues to expand as new applications and instrumentation are introduced. |

The In-specŪ line provides precise, ready to use standards for spectrophotometer verification that are both affordable and traceable. Because some applications require thinking that is outside the box, GFS also strives to work with customers to quickly formulate products that solve specific needs.
GFS Chemicals, Inc. - Reliable Chemical
Manufacturing since 1928
Since we started manufacturing specialty chemicals in 1928 as the G. Frederick Smith Chemical Co., customers have learned to rely on GFS for many good reasons -
- Our original focus on ligands and reagents needed in Analytical chemical protocols gave us a broad understanding of the quality control issues that impact your lab and business decisions
- Our seminal development of the chemistry of perchloric acid and perchlorate salts spawned a tradition of engineering excellence and emphasis on safety that applies to GFS chemical manufacturing of both inorganic and organic specialties.
- Our ability to actually manufacture reagents across the entire chemical spectrum (or periodic chart if you prefer) makes it likely that something important you need can be found at GFS
With GFS Chemicals you'll find quality, reliability, and versatility in chemical manufacturing combined with the GFS tradition of personal service and a business in its' third generation of family management. These are all great reasons to make GFS your first choice for your chemical needs.
