In-SpecŪ Dye Standards

The In-SpecŪ Dye Standards provide another option for photometric accuracy checks. These standards are popular for use in verifying instrument performance when doing DNA/RNA Quantification checks and also to verify spectrophotometers in the wine industry. GFS Chemicals Inc. currently offers two different dye standards with different data being supplied for each one depending on the locations of the peaks and valleys. The patent blue violet dye has seven peaks/valleys between 248nm and 639nm while the amaranth red dye has ten peaks/valleys between 218nm and 522nm. These standards are NIST-traceable and have a 1 year shelf life.

These standards are available in various concentrations and we can provide data for many of the popular pathlengths that are utilized.

Nano-Kit – Item # 8476

This kit is designed for the short pathlength/small sample instruments that are becoming increasingly popular. It is designed in particular for the chemist who is doing DNA/RNA Quantification tests. The kit comes with data for a 1mm pathlength at 260nm, 280nm, and 320nm. The kit consists of two standards (Patent Blue Dye and Amaranth Red Dye) and a bottle of DI water. The standards have a shelf life of 1 year and the DI water has a shelf life of 3 months. After which you may use your own source of DI water to baseline your instrument.
